HYBRID | FULL-TIME

Boulo is sourcing candidates for an Account Manager for our client, a family-owned and multi-generational commercial property and casualty insurance firm. The Account Manager will provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers and company personnel of assigned accounts.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Flexibility: Hybrid – Remote Monday & Friday, In-Office Tuesday – Thursday 
Pay: $60,000 – $80,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities of the Account Manager: 

  • Grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge to highest level possible
  • Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing commercial accounts
  • Service Commercial Lines accounts as assigned and aid in collections
  • Handle all renewals for accounts that are staying with incumbent carriers
  • Review quotes that come from our Marketing Department and compare to renewal quote to see which is best. Work directly with Producer and Marketing Rep on this
  • Process Renewal Analysis and any other information needed for Producer’s appointments with insureds and make appointments for these meetings, per agency procedures
  • Collect premiums per established agency procedures
  • Work directly with carriers/brokers to provide them with any information needed on renewals and/or changes being made to policy
  • Prepare company submissions for renewal business quotes and prepare proposals of insurance, including visits to clients with producer when requested
  • Prepare and process endorsement requests for Commercial Lines clients
  • Prepare and process cancellations/reinstatements when required
  • Prepare and process certificates of insurance occasionally as required within 24 hours of request
  • Review all applications, policies, endorsements and audits for accuracy
  • Invoice all premium-bearing transactions
  • Notify producer of any unpaid balances on account and request appropriate actions be made according to agency collections procedure
  • Prepare Auto ID cards, evidence of property, certificates, binders, and endorsements
  • Email policies, and related documents to insureds as needed
  • Maintain suspense items in a timely manner
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development, keep current on carrier forms and coverage changes
  • Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system
  • Service commercial lines accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures
  • Prioritize workload and/or request assistance as required
  • Assist other agency departments in securing and/or providing information necessary to issue appropriate policies in their department for which we have a mutual client
  • Assist Claims Department in providing coverage information, if needed
  • Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts
  • Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by producer or department manager

Requirements of the Account Manager:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. Knowledge of Applied/Epic management system or the equivalent and other computer systems and operations
  • Good listening skills, ability to prioritize, must pay attention to detail, and display the ability to work in a team environment with a great attitude
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial insurance lines of business and products in order to discuss coverages with insureds and insurance carriers
  • P & C License is required with 3+ years of experience working a large book of business on various sized accounts in a very fast paced atmosphere
  • Professional designation is a plus
