Boulo is recruiting a Benefits & Payroll Manager to join our client, a leading contractor that installs deep foundations systems for critical commercial and infrastructure projects throughout the United States, the Caribbean and South America. This family-owned and Birmingham-based company has constructed foundations under many of the world's largest energy, manufacturing and industrial projects and is well-established as a leader for deep foundation installation in heavy civil, commercial, industrial and marine construction markets.

Pay: $70,000 – $80,000 
Benefits: Medical (company pays majority of employee premiums), dental, STD, LTD, 401K with match, PTO and paid holidays

Responsibilities of the Benefits & Payroll Manager

  • Manages Payroll Taxes utilizing excel and internal payroll program
  • Pays all payroll taxes to Fed and State weekly (W-2, Federal 940 and 941 payments, state unemployment taxes and insurance) 
  • Manage Benefits for Salary and Field employees EEOC Filing
  • Onboard new employees including background checks, E-Verify, setting up payroll and benefit enrollments 
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments and enrolling all new employees in Benefits (Medical, Life, STD and LTD) 
  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries. Set up and maintain appropriate deductions for benefits in payroll software
  • Process I9 forms on all new hires
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA

Requirements of the Benefits & Payroll Manager: 

  • 3-5 years of experience managing benefits 
  • 3+ years experience managing payroll taxes, including Federal 940 and 941 payments, state unemployment payments and reports, withholding taxes and W-2 distribution 
  • Bachelors Degree 
  • HR experience with a distributed company where employees are spread out in the field or multiple offices preferred
