Boulo is sourcing candidates for a growing company in Birmingham looking to hire a Staff Accountant of Business Combinations to join their rapidly growing team in Birmingham, AL. Pay: $55,000-75000 plus 10% bonus

This role will be an integral part of the accounting team and will include accounting for and preparation of accounting-related matters for our Joint Venture operations, Business Combinations, and other technical accounting areas. The person in this role will become an expert in accounting matters and its business combinations and joint ventures.
This role will be an integral part of the monthly financial statement preparation process and opportunity to work on other ad hoc projects as part of a growing Company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze Joint Venture Financial Statements
- Calculate consolidating and eliminating Joint Venture journal entries
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Statements for Joint Ventures, including Statement of Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Profit & Loss Statements
- Analyze and present financial results, fluxes and trends to management for analysis and review
- Maintain detailed schedule of joint ventures and deadlines for financial preparation
- Calculate cash distributions and coordinate Management approvals
- Perform purchase price allocations for business combinations
- Analyze and review new joint venture agreements to determine key information that will impact joint venture accounting implications.
- Accurately account for assets and liabilities assumed as part of business combinations
- Thorough review of legal diligence, purchase agreements, and employee agreements to identify key account points
- Perform working capital settlements related to our acquisitions
- Identify the nature and timing of pre and post-close transactions
- Maintain thorough records and tying all transactions to underlying support
- Work closely with Sellers and other departments to complete the working capital settlement timely, efficiently, and effectively
- Perform accounting research for unusual and complex accounting matters arising from the Company’s business combinations, capital transactions, and other unusual or nonrecurring transactions.
- Document conclusions, and present findings to Management
- Prepare & facilitate information between various internal departments, coordinate meetings and calls as required
- Maintain thorough organized records
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance/Accounting or a related field
- 1+ years’ experience in accounting, audit or other relevant professional capacity
- CPA certification/ in the process of pursuing CPA certification preferred
- Experience working in retail or healthcare industry preferred
- Blackline experience preferred but not necessary
- Proficient at working in accounting software
- Advanced Excel Skills & working with large amounts of data
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and meet strict deadlines
