PART-TIME | IN-OFFICE 

Boulo Solutions is partnering with a non profit in Birmingham looking to hire a 
Dean of Students and Curriculum Coordinator that will assist the Director of the Education Center in the day- to-day running of the Education Center. This position is on-site at our location in the Avondale area of Birmingham.

Hours: 24 hours per week, M: 8-12, Tues 8-3, Wed 8-12, Th 8-3
Hourly Rate: $20-22/hour

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet Students each morning

  • Responsible for the recruitment of students in assigned areas.
  •  Maintain student academic records using multiple software programs.
  • Schedule GAIN assessments, proctor tests, print and review scores with students.

  • Ensure students are placed in the proper classes/levels with the appropriate teachers/tutors.

  • Help set and carry out education/life plans for students.

  • Responsible for the recruitment and training of Education Center volunteers in assigned areas.

  • Helps manage volunteers in assigned areas.

  • Manages the daily operations of the Education Center in the following areas: GED Classroom, GED Academy (online), Literacy, Wellhouse GED program, and other programs as developed.

  • Provide accurate metrics each month for various internal reports and for grant preparation.

  • Track the budget for the Education Center.

  • Provide student stories and updates to be used on social media and in donor communications.

  • Develop relationships with partnering organizations to collaborate.

  • Share the administrative tasks of the Education Center with other team members.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Professing Christian and member in good standing of a local Christian congregation

  • Demonstrate compassion for the poor, hurting, and marginalized in the community.

  • Understand and support the mission and ministry of the non profit.

  • Be a team player with a “one-ministry” mindset.

  • The ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and social situations.

  • Willingness to pray for and with the students.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate specialized databases.

  • College Degree and some experience as a teacher, school administrator, or in career development preferred.
