Our client is seeking a Transportation Engineer Project Manager will manage transportation-related projects from concept to completion. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of various transportation projects, ensuring they meet technical, budgetary, and scheduling goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation engineering, proven project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Requirements of the Transportation Engineer Project Manager:
- ??????Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, including roadway design and transit planning.
- Proven experience managing transportation projects from design through construction.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with relevant transportation regulations, guidelines, and permitting processes.
Responsibilities of the Transportation Engineer Project Manager:
- Project Management – Manage all phases of transportation projects, including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, permitting, and construction oversight; Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure all project objectives are met; Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
- Team Leadership – Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and technical direction on transportation projects; Foster collaboration and ensure that all team members are aligned with project goals and expectations; Oversee work assignments and provide mentoring to junior staff.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement – Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle; Conduct presentations and attend meetings with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress; Collaborate with stakeholders to address project challenges and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Technical Expertise – Provide technical expertise in transportation planning and design, including roadway, and transit projects; Review and approve project deliverables such as plans, specifications, and reports to ensure quality and accuracy; Ensure that all projects comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations and industry standards.
- Budget and Schedule Management – Monitor project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget; Identify and mitigate project risks and potential cost overruns; Prepare and submit progress reports to clients and senior management, highlighting key milestones and any deviations from the original plan.
