Our client is an Enterprise Collaboration Firm based in Birmingham, AL that partners with medium to large organizations, architects, and construction teams to design and deliver seamless video collaboration solutions, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, rooms, scheduling, digital signage, and fully integrated collaboration systems. Their approach is rooted in aligning technology with real business goals—supported by thought-leader designs, long-term relationships, and managed service partnerships.

Our client is seeking a seasoned, highly motivated Commercial IT Infrastructure Sales Representative to generate new business and close high-value AV integration projects across the Birmingham metro area. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with an affinity for technology and a proven background in IT, telecom, or infrastructure sales who also understands the value of long-term, relationship-driven consultative sales. The right candidate will be deeply networked in Birmingham’s IT and architectural/design communities, capable of holding credible conversations with IT Directors, Network Admins, Principals at Architecture & Engineering firms, and Construction PMs alike.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Established relationships with enterprise IT stakeholders and/or architectural professionals in the Birmingham area.
  • Experience selling complex technology—preferably IT infrastructure, SaaS, cloud services, or similar—and understands how to position technical solutions to business stakeholders
  • Thrives in a consultative sales environment with a long sales cycle (6+ months)
  • Feels confident leading meetings with both mid-level technical users and C-suite executives
  • Has a passion for technology and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue commercial opportunities (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms, Conference Room Spaces, Auditoriums, Mission Critical Control Rooms, CEO Board Rooms, Digital Signage) across enterprise clients in the Birmingham metro
  • Leverage your relationships with IT professionals, Principals and Associates at architecture and interior design firms, Construction project managers, general contractors, and developers
  • Lead early-stage conversations with architects and designers to help incorporate AV infrastructure (power, data, conduit) into architectural plans
  • Work with our engineering team to scope and price meeting room technology solutions
  • Educate clients on meeting room technologies, present proposals, and close deals—owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to signed contract
  • Respond to RFPs and help coordinate required documentation for bids and proposals
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated sales engineer for design and estimating support, and a project manager for post-sale coordination
  • Support the transition into our managed service agreements to keep client systems monitored and supported long-term
  • Present to groups of stakeholders in design review or executive settings

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales of IT infrastructure, networking, telecom, or cloud services AND/OR 3+ years of experience working with local Architecture firms in the design community in Birmingham.
  • Existing, established network of relationships in the Birmingham business, tech, and/or design community
  • Ability to carry a business-level conversation about networks (e.g., VLANs, IT security best practices).  You do not need to be a technical expert but will need to learn the basics of information security and networking best practices.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills—comfortable presenting to groups or C-level audiences
  • Hunter mentality—relentless about generating leads and pursuing new accounts
  • Enthusiasm for technology and an eagerness to learn AV concepts. We’ll train you but you need to have a passion for technology to thrive in this industry.
