Boulo Solutions is partnering with a non profit in Birmingham looking to hire a
Volunteer Coordinator that will assist the Dean of Students in the day- to-day running of the Education Center. This position is on-site at our location in the Avondale area of Birmingham.
Hours: 19 hours per week, Tuesday 7:30-3:00 Wednesday 8:00-12:00 Thursday 7:30-3:00
Hourly Rate: $17-19/hour
SUMMARY
The Volunteer and Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and care of our volunteers and will serve as assistant to the Dean of Students. This position is on-site at our location in the Avondale area of Birmingham.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for the recruitment, training, and management of Education Center volunteers
· Coordinate Lunch Volunteers and arrange meals on days that we provide lunch for students
· Collaborate with the Dean of Students to plan and organize our weekly Life Skills classes
· Provide student stories and updates to be used on social media and in donor communications
· Develop relationships with partnering organizations to collaborate
· Data Entry of attendance, volunteer hours, test scores, etc using industry-specific software
· Track book inventory using industry-specific software
· Work with the Dean of Students to ensure students are placed in the proper classes/levels with the appropriate teachers/tutors and curriculum
· Ensuring classrooms are set up and ready for class each day
· Assist the Dean of Students as needed
· Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Professing Christian and member in good standing of a local Christian congregation
· Demonstrate compassion for the poor, hurting, and marginalized in the community
· Understand and support the mission and ministry of the non profit
· Be a team player with a “one-ministry” mindset
· Willingness to take ownership of job responsibilities
· The ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and social situations
· Willingness to pray for and with the students of the non profit
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate specialized databases
· Must be able to climb stairs
