Boulo is recruiting a Legal Secretary / Receptionist for our client, a small but busy Birmingham-based law firm focused on domestic and family law.

Job Type: Full-time, M-F 8-5pm 
Flexibility: In-Office, downtown Birmingham 
Pay: $50,000 – $55,000 (based on experience) with opportunities for performance based bonus

A small but busy law firm focused on domestic and family law is seeking a motivated and dependable Legal Secretary / Receptionist. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on legal experience in a supportive and fast-paced environment. Our client is looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with clients and legal professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage phone calls and maintain attorney calendars
  • Support ongoing cases by providing updates to clients
  • Maintain and organize case files and legal documentation

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Basic writing ability and familiarity with legal concepts preferred
  • Ability to draft clear and concise motions and pleadings is a plus
  • Litigation experience is an advantage but not required
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and other law offices
  • A basic understanding of finances is helpful due to the subject matter, though not required
  • Familiarity with Alafile, Microsoft Word, and Excel is a plus
