Boulo is partnering with a Birmingham, AL company that specializes in operating CPG businesses. We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. 

Hours: Full time in office but flexible when needed
Salary: $90k

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to add depth to our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-level or portfolio company accounting, reporting, and financial statement consolidation. This includes coordination of inputs from entity-level accounting leaders. This role will have capacity for future supervisory responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in assembly of annual budget and periodic rolling forecasts.

  • Produces periodic financial reports; ensures financial reporting compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

  • Oversee consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, including comparisons to budget and reforecasts as necessary.

  • Assist leadership with the development of short-term cash forecasts with input from within the department from portfolio companies as well as outside from multiple departments including Sales and Supply Chain.
  • Review reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and amortization of prepaid expenses.
  • Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on product cost assessments, margin estimates, and customer level performance.

  • Audit accounts on a regular basis to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; coordinates with V. P. of Finance and outside Accounting Firm to provide needed information.

  • Collaborates across departments to provide ad-hoc analysis including product or customer

  • Performs other duty or tasks as may be assigned, fostering a continuous commitment to excellence.

Experience and Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Required

  • Five to eight years of related experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.

  • Experience with preparation and consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, Required.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across teams at all levels of the company.

  • Proficiency in accounting or ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite software.

  • Travel requirements Less than 10%
